It gets worse. The latest Transport for Greater Manchester map (far left) is even less legible with routes to Eccles and Altrincham taking even more bizarre directions. So my version, left.

All very pretty but all too small. Why bother with those tiny symbols and key? Poor station/caption spacing. Couldn't it bear some relationship to geography?
